Smart Tab Cleaner ("the Extension") is a browser extension that helps you detect duplicate tabs and manage inactive tabs. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses and how it is used.

Data We Access

The Extension accesses the following information locally on your device:

• Tab URLs – to detect duplicate tabs and display them in the popup
• Tab last-accessed time – to identify tabs that have been inactive beyond your chosen limit
• Your settings – such as the inactive tab day limit you configure in the popup

How Data Is Used

All data is processed locally in your browser. The Extension uses this information solely to:

• Detect and notify you about duplicate tabs
• Show a list of duplicate tabs in the extension popup
• Remind you about tabs that have been inactive for longer than your configured limit
• Close tabs when you explicitly choose to do so via a button or notification action

Data Storage

Your preferences and reminder timestamps are stored locally using Chrome's storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device.

Data Sharing

We do not collect, sell, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties. The Extension does not use analytics, tracking, or external servers.

Remote Code

The Extension does not load or execute remote code. All functionality is contained within the extension package.

Permissions

• tabs – read and manage open tabs for duplicate and inactive tab detection
• storage – save your settings locally
• notifications – show alerts about duplicate or inactive tabs
• scripting – display in-page toast notifications on duplicate tabs
• alarms – periodically check for inactive tabs
• host permissions – show toast notifications on any website where a duplicate tab is opened

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information.
